Uluru & Kata Tjuta
Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) are spectacular, the changing colours in the different light throughout the day, the textures, the shapes, and just their massive presence in the otherwise flat landscape, make them one of the world's most recognisable sights.

Unfortunately, it is the most visited site in Australia and you do need to share it with the crowds. If only it could be down a long 4WD-only track like the Bungle Bungle......

The quietest and best experience was driving before dawn to the eastern side to watch the sunrise and having breakfast in the carpark in the new light. Only slightly spoiled by the new $15 million 'viewing platform', the tour buses had left before the coffee was boiled and we had the place to ourselves.
